LOVE MY HB

Henri Bendel's, which opened in 1895, has long represented the ultimate in class and lavishness in New York City. Situated on 5th Avenue, it attracts the UES-ers like Dylan's Candy Bar attracts 12 year old girls. It offers 6 extravagant floors, all filled with glitzy glamorous gems.

Currently showcasing bangles for spring- the following have city patterns that epitomize the look HB puts forth-> richly put together but still street smart.

Snag these while you can!

Florally Obsessed

As usual, spring clothing campaigns often feature a flowering of.. well, flowers. Floral designs always come out for spring, but this year needs a new take on it-
pastels, ruffles, ruffles, ruffles, bib necklaces and other non-matching prints to pair with.

Blame it on the GG

Gossip Girl made bows a part of every stylish ensemble. Urban Outfitters, Marc Jacobs, American Apparel.. All of these have put their own spins on the bows. But when is the look elegant and when is it reminiscent of a 6 year old girl? You decide.

PENELOPE

This post is devoted to Penelope Cruz. If you haven't seen the most recent Almodovar film, get to it! It came out in November but is still in some theaters in nyc. Not only is her clothing throughout the movie gorgeous, she herself is literally luminescent.

This dress with the matching jewelry is so exquisite, and yet, doesn't take away from Penelope's own beauty. There's also something so sexy about the man clasping the necklace.

Pearl River

For those of you who have never heard of Pearl River Trading Mart, it is possibly my favorite store in NYC. The address is 477 Broadway, between Broome and Grande Streets. This is a mini super store, with all Asian products. Only here can you find erasers shaped like pastries, tin wind up penguins, and cat-shapped ring holders, among other things.
What I'm really liking from here right now are the fans (and their prices!):

You can also count on Pearl River for a throwback to the days of early highschool

I know you all remember when it was cool to wear these mesh slippers, especially when Urban started selling them for $16 when in Chinatown they were $3/pair. My favorite song the year that all the girls had these in at least 6 different colors was Thalia feat Fat Joe, I want you.

Drivin'

Common feat Lily Allen, Drivin' Me Wild

5 things that are driving ME wild right now:

1. Seals
2. Dunkin Donuts Hot Chocolate in the mornings
3. Waiting for my Harper's Bazaar mags to start showing up in my mailbox
4. Waiting for Saturday: banana peel hot chocolate at City Bakery and a trip to GirlProps to get heart shaped gold hoops
5. Looking at chandeliers online.

Bling it

Anyone who knows me knows I have a slight obsession with bling- meaning, gold, gems and rhinestones on top of anything. Here are a few of the bejeweled articles I fancy:

1. GirlPROPS

The IT thing in highschool were these earrings, which still have a larger than life charm.

2. BROACHES
My grandmother, a very classy woman, often accessorized with broaches. While hers were not this blingged out, who doesn't love a sea animal encrused with gems?

3. Last but not least:
In my dream world we wear necklaces like this everyday!
